Chana prices fell by Rs 13, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 2,177 per quintal in futures trade today in tandem with sluggish spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, chana for delivery in July contract lost Rs 13, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 2,177 per quintal, with a trading volume of 18 lots.

The commodity for delivery in August contract also traded lower by Rs 10, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 2,222 per quintal, with an open interest of five lots.

Marketmen said apart from sluggish demand, increased supplies in the physical market, led to a fall in chana prices at futures trade.
