Chana prices moved down by 1.44% to Rs 3,147 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators indulged in booking profits at existing higher levels, driven by subdued spot markets demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, for delivery October it lost Rs 46, or 1.44%, to Rs 3,147 per quintal, with an open interest of 147,750 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in November shed Rs 38, or 1.14%, to Rs 3,292 per quintal, with an open interest of 141,510.
According to traders, profit-booking by speculators at prevailing higher levels against subdued demand in the spot market, mainly pulled down the chana futures prices.
