Press Trust of India New Delhi

Chana prices weakened by Rs 7 to Rs 2,599 per quintal in futures trade today on adequate stocks following fresh arrivals against subdued demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for May contract declined by Rs 7 or 0.27 per cent to Rs 2,599 per quintal with an open interest of 50,280 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in April shed Rs 2, or 0.08 per cent to Rs 2,537 per quintal in 85,030 lots.

Analysts said adequate stocks following arrivals of new crop in the spot market against subdued demand mainly led to the decline in chana futures prices.
