Chana prices moved down by Rs 18 to Rs 3,231 per quintal in futures trading, today due to higher arrivals from producing region against sluggish demand in the spot market.
Higher arrivals from growing states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra also put pressure on the chana futures price.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in March fell by Rs 18, or 0.55%, to Rs 3,231 per quintal, with an open interest of 47,050 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in February shed Rs 6, or 0.19%, to Rs 3,228 per quintal in 1,05,570 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in chana futures prices to higher arrivals from producing regions against subdued demand.
