Chana prices recovered by Rs 8 to Rs 2,268 per quintal in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions, supported by pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for August month recovered by Rs 8, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 2268 per quintal with an open interest of 100,340 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in September month also traded higher by the same margin at Rs 2,314 per quintal in 146,360 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators on pick up in demand in the spot market mainly led to recovery in Chana prices at futures trade.
