Chana prices remained weak and shed another Rs 3 to Rs 2,452 per quintal in futures trade today, on rising arrivals of new crop in the physical market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in April shed Rs 3, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 2,452 per quintal, with an open interest of 97,810 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in May traded lower by the same margin to Rs 2,500 per quintal, with a business volume of 64,710 lots.

Analysts said rising arrivals of new crop in the spot market against subdued demand mainly led to fall in chana futures prices.
