Chana futures prices rose by Rs 46 to Rs 2,401 per quintal in today, as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by a rise in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, chana for delivery in January rose by Rs 46, or 2 per cent, to Rs 2,401 per quintal, with an open interest of just one lot.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in November traded higher by Rs 3, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 2,345 per quintal, clocking a trade volume of just one lot.

Marketmen said fresh positions created by speculators on pick up in demand in the spot market, mainly led to the rise in chana futures prices.
