Chana prices gained Rs 6 or 0.28 per cent to Rs 2,126 per quintal in futures trade today on pick up in demand at spot markets.

Less arrivals from the producing regions of Rajasthan and Gujarat also supported the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, chana for July contract gained Rs 6, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 2,126 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,805 lots.

The commodity for delivery in June contract also traded higher by Rs 3.00, or 0.14 per cent to Rs 2,067 per quintal, with an open interest of 353 lots.

Traders said speculators indulged in increasing their positions on pick up in demand at spot markets, helped chana prices to trade higher.
