Chana prices rose by Rs 12 to Rs 2,323 per quintal in futures trade today on low-level buying by traders following pick-up in domestic demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for May delivery rose by Rs 12, or 0.52% to Rs 2,323 per quintal, with an open interest of 98,480 lots.

The commodity for delivery in June also traded higher by Rs 9, or 0.38% to Rs 2,400 per quintal, with open interest of 1,35,450 lots.

Market analysts said lower-level buying by traders following pick-up in domestic demand mainly helped chana prices to trade higher at futures market.
