Press Trust of India New Delhi

Buoyed by good demand at the spot market, chana prices rose by Rs 22 to Rs 2,446 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators increased their positions.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in March rose by Rs 22, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 2,446 per quintal, with an open interest of 56,540 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in April gained Rs 16, or 0.63 per cent, to Rs 2,554 per quintal, with a business turnover of 85,420 lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by speculators triggered by good demand in the spot market mainly led to the rise in chana futures prices.
