Chana futures traded marginally higher by Rs 3 to Rs 2,353 per quintal today as speculators created fresh positions in tandem with a rise in spot demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 3, or 0.13% to Rs 2,353 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,52,690 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in June gained Rs 2, or 0.08% to Rs 2,426 per quintal, with a business turnover of 87,880 lots.

Traders said speculators created fresh positions on the back of rising demand in the spot market, which helped chana futures prices to trade higher.
