Chana prices shot up by Rs 39 to Rs 3,459 per quintal in futures trade today on speculators enlarging their positions, driven by a strong demand in the spot market due to the festive season.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, October chana shot up by Rs 39, or 1.14% to Rs 3,459 per quintal with an open interest of 293,200 lots.

The September contract moved up by Rs 36, or 1.08% to Rs 3,380 per quintal in 152,900 lots.
