Chana prices weakened by Rs 7 to Rs 3,289 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid a fall in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, January chana declined by Rs 7, or 0.21%, to Rs 3,289 per quintal, with an open interest for 1,30,640 lots.

The February contract lost Rs 3, or 0.09%, to Rs 3,267 per quintal in 57,200 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in chana futures prices to profit-booking by speculators at prevailing higher levels following a decline in demand in the spot market.
