Chana gains 0.27% as demand picks up

Speculators created fresh positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market following pick-up in demand

Chana prices gained 0.27% to Rs 4,102 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market following pick-up in demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the January contract rose by Rs 11, or 0.27%, to Rs 4,102 per quintal with an open interest of 86,190 lots.

The December contract gained Rs 7, or 0.16%, to Rs 4,262 per quintal in 67,840 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in chana prices at futures trade to fresh positions created by speculators, tracking a firm trend at spot market on pick-up in demand.
