Chana gains 0.5% on pick-up in demand

Prices gained as speculators enlarged their positions

Chana futures for May rose Rs 19, or 0.54% to Rs 3520 per quintal in 90,340 lots.     

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), the June contract gained Rs 18, or 0.50% to Rs 3594 per quintal in 78,250 lots.

Prices gained as speculators enlarged their positions on pick-up in spot market demand.

However, Increased supplies from new season crop and expectations of higher output restricted the gains.
