Chana gains on pick up in spot demand

Chana prices rose by Rs 12 to Rs 2,475 per quintal in futures trade today on the back of pick up in demand in the spot market due to marriage season.

Fall in supplies from producing regions of Rajasthan and Gujarat in spot markets further supported the uptrend in futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, chana for December-month contract rose Rs 12, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 2,398 per quintal. 

Traders said speculators increasing their positions on hopes of a rise in demand in the spot market due to marriage season.
