Chana prices rose by Rs 69 to Rs 2,366 per quintal in futures trade today, on the back of pick-up in demand in the spot market amid low stocks.

Fall in supplies from the producing regions of Rajasthan and Gujarat further supported the uptrend in futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, chana for delivery in January rose Rs 69, or 3 per cent, to Rs 2,366 per quintal, with business turnover of just one lot.

Traders said speculators increased their positions on hopes of a rise in demand in the spot market.
