Chana prices rose by Rs 113 to Rs 3,294 per quintal in futures trade today on the back of a firming trend in the spot market due to a pick-up in demand amid restricted arrivals from producing regions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, December chana rose by Rs 113, or 3.55%, to Rs 3,294 per quintal, with an open interest for 1,29,700 lots.

The February contract moved up by Rs 108, or 3.38%, to Rs 3,301 per quintal in 53,690 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in chana futures prices to a pick-up in demand in the spot market amid a decline in arrivals from producing regions.
