Supported by pick-up in demand at the spot markets, chana prices moved up by Rs 50 to Rs 3,413 per quintal in futures trading today on increased buying by speculators.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in March rose by Rs 50, or 1.49%, to Rs 3,413 per quintal, with an open interest of 71,260 lots.

The April contract moved up by Rs 40, or 1.19%, to Rs 3,390 per quintal in 78,300 lots.

Analysts said increased buying by speculators, driven by pick-up in demand in the spot market mainly led to the rise in chana futures prices.
