Chana prices rose by Rs 26 to Rs 3,765 per quintal in futures trade today on the back of lower output concerns amid thin supply.

At the National Commodity Derivatives Exchange, the May contract rose Rs 26, or 0.67%, to Rs 3,765 per quintal with an open interest of 92,380 lots.

The April contract gained Rs 24, or 0.66%, to Rs 3,640 per quintal with open interest of 32,140 lots.

Analysts said increased buying by speculators on good demand in the spot market amid thin supply mainly led to a rise in chana futures prices.

They said reports of a lower output this season further influenced the market sentiment.
