Chana prices rebounded by Rs 65, or 2.81 per cent, to Rs 2,376 per quintal in futures trading today on emergence of buying by stockists at existing lower levels amid a recovery in spot markets.

Fall in supplies in the physical market also supported the upward trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, chana for September contract rose by Rs 65, or 2.81 per cent, to Rs 2,376 per quintal, with a business volume of one lot.

The commodity for delivery in August delivery also traded higher by Rs 46, or 2.03 per cent, to Rs 2,315 per quintal, with a business volume of three lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators, followed by pick up in demand in spot market ahead of the festival season, mainly pushed up chana prices in futures trade.
