Supported by a pick-up in demand in the spot market due to the ongoing festive season, chana prices rose by Rs 31 to Rs 3,271 per quintal in futures trade today.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, September chana rose by Rs 31, or 0.96%, to Rs 3,271 per quintal, with an open interest for 280,930 lots.

The October delivery gained Rs 29, or 0.87%, to Rs 3,363 per quintal in 172,300 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in chana futures prices to a pick-up in demand in the spot market amid the ongoing festive season.
