Chana prices declined by Rs 34 to Rs 4,210 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators booked profits after recent gains.

Also, sluggish demand in the spot market also put pressure on chana futures.

At the NCDEX, the June delivery fell by Rs 34, or 0.80%, to Rs 4,210 per quintal, with an open interest of 101,940 lots.

The May contract shed Rs 33, or 0.79%, to Rs 4,160 per quintal in 6,300 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators on sluggish demand in the spot market mainly helped chana prices to trade lower at futures market.
