Chana prices fell by Rs 5 or 0.22 per cent at Rs 2,226 per quintal in futures trade today, as traders reduced their positions, after tracking weak trend at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, chana for July-month contract fell Rs 5, or 0.22 per cent to Rs 2,228 per quintal, with a trading volume of three lots.

Chana for June delivery also declined by Rs two or 0.09 per cent to Rs 2,190 per quintal, with a business volume of three lots.

Traders said, sluggish demand against increased arrivals in spot markets led to a fall in chana prices at futures market.
