Chana prices declined by Rs 9, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 2,175 per 100 kg in futures trade today, as speculators booked profits, triggered by subdued demand in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, chana for August contract declined by Rs 9, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 2,175 per 100 kg, with a business turnover of two lots.

The September delivery eased by Rs two, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 2,220 per 10 kg, with a business turnover of two lots.

Marketmen said subdued demand, against adequate supplies in the physical market led to a fall in chana prices at futures market.
