Supported by rising demand in the spot markets, chana prices rose by 0.36% to Rs 3,083 per quintal in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in December rose Rs 11, or 0.36%, to Rs 3,083 per quintal with an open interest of 47,790 lots.
In a similar fashion, the commodity for delivery in November gained Rs 9, or 0.30%, to Rs 3,025 in an open interest of 1,02,790 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in chana prices at futures trade to fresh positions built-up by speculators following rising demand in the spot market.
