Chana up 0.5% on strong demand

Commodity for delivery in October traded higher by 0.31%

Chana prices rose by Rs 16 to Rs 3,147 per quintal in futures market today as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by strong demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in November rose by Rs 16, or 0.51%, to Rs 3,147 per quintal with an open interest of 1,07,960 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in October traded higher by Rs 10, or 0.31%, to Rs 3,193 per quintal in 45,900 lots.

Market analysts said speculators enlarged their positions on the back of strong demand in the spot market mainly pushed up chana prices in futures trade.
