Chana up 0.7% on high buying activity

Chana prices for delivery in June higher by 0.59%.

Chana prices rose by Rs 23 to Rs 3,274 per quintal in futures trade today as traders enlarged their holdings on rising demand against restricted supplies in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in July month rose by Rs 23, or 0.70%, to Rs 3,274 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,73,320 lots.

Similarly, chana prices for delivery in June higher by Rs 19, or 0.59%, to Rs 3,230 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,700 lots.

Traders said speculators increasing their holdings on rise in spot market demand against restricted arrivals of the commodity in the physical market mainly influenced the market sentiment.
