Chana prices rose by 0.85% to Rs 3,182 per quintal in futures trade today as traders enlarged their holdings on account of good demand in spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for June delivery rose by Rs 27, or 0.85%, to Rs 3,182 per quintal, with an open interest for 50,160 lots.
Similarly, chana for delivery in May increased by Rs 26, or 0.83%, to Rs 3,123 per quintal, with an open interest of 97,380 lots.
Traders said speculators increasing their holdings on hopes of a rise in spot market demand due to marriage season, mainly pushed up chana future prices.
