Chilli declines 0.3% % on higher output estimates

Sluggish demand affected the trade

Chilli prices fell by 0.25% to Rs 5,650 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions amid on higher output estimates amid sluggish demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), chilli for delivery in June fell by Rs 14, or 0.25%, to Rs 5,650 per quintal in 17,730 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in July slid by Rs 18, or 0.18%, to Rs 5,786 per quintal in 4,205 lots.

Market analysts said speculators offloaded their positions triggered by higher output estimates, mainly weighed on chilli prices at futures trade.
