Chilli falls on sluggish demand

In a range-bound trading, chilli futures prices fell by Rs 56 or 1.22 per cent to Rs 4,546 per quintal today, tracking a weak trend in spot markets on subdued demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chilli for June contract fell Rs 56, or 1.22 per cent to Rs 4,546 per quintal with an open interest of 4,320 lots, while delivery in July contract held steady at Rs 4,746 per quintal in thin trade.

Marketmen said adequate stocks position against sluggish demand in spot market, put some pressure on the chilli prices at futures trade.
