Chilli prices fell by Rs 90 to Rs 8,056 per quintal in futures trading today as traders reduced their positions due to sluggish demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chilli for delivery in July fell by Rs 90, or 1.10%, to Rs 8,056 per quintal with an open interest for 9,705 lots.

The August contract lost Rs 72, or 0.86%, to Rs 8,264 per quintal in 10,180 lots.

Market analysts said traders reducing their positions due to sluggish demand in the spot market mainly led to the fall in chilli futures prices.
