Chilli futures trade marginally higher on spot demand

Chilli traded at Rs 4,570 per 100 kg, gaining Rs 8, or 0.18 per cent at the futures market today, tracking firm demand in spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, chilli for July month contract rose by Rs 8 or 0.18 per cent to Rs 4,570 per 100 kgs with an open interest of 1,770 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in far-month October contract gained Rs 8 or 0.16 per cent to Rs 4,870 per quintal in 250 lots. 

Analysts said pick up in demand at the physical markets, helped chilli futures to trade a shade higher.
