Chilli prices traded marginally lower by Rs 19, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 4,630 per quintal in futures trading on subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, chilli for July contract declined by Rs 19, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 4,630 per quintal, with an open interest of 5,130 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in August contract lost Rs 9, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 4,753 per quintal, with a business turnover of 1,675 lots.

Marketmen said subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position helped chilli prices to trade lower at futures trade.
