Chilli, jeera rise on firm buying

Red chilli and jeera prices rose by up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on the back of firm local demand and hopes of pick-up in overseas enquiries. 

Red chilli prices rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 9,500-13,200 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also rose further by Rs 200 each to settled at Rs 15,000-15,200 and Rs 17,200-17,300 per quintal due to local demand and hopes of a pick-up in overseas enquiries.

Ajwain 17,500-23,000, black pepper common 27,500-27,700, betelnut (kg) 110-120, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 920-980, and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,100-1,225

 

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 600-630, cardamom (colour robin) 610-650, cardamom bold 630-680, cardamom extra (bold) 880-910 and cloves (kg) 750-825
