Red chilli and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal each in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists as well as retailers.
Restricted arrivals in the market as stockists held back stocks in anticipations of better prices in coming days, also influenced the trading sentiment.
Red chilli prices rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 4,900-9,600 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also traded higher at Rs 12,500-12,700 and Rs 13,900-14,400 against previous closing of Rs 12,400-12,600 and Rs 13,800-14,300 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said sentiments turned better following pick up in domestic demand against restricted arrivals, mainly pushed up chilli and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
