Red chilli and jeera prices rose by up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists and retailers amid low stocks.
Restricted supplies from producing regions and a firming trend in futures trade also supported the rise in prices.
Red chilli prices rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 7,100-13,900 per quintal.
Jeera common traded higher at Rs 15,300-15,400 from the previous close of Rs 15,100-15,200 per quintal and jeera best quality rose to Rs 17,300-17,400 against Rs 17,100-17,200 per quintal previously.
Market analysts said fresh buying by stockists and retailers following pick-up in domestic demand against low stocks mainly pushed up chilli and jeera prices in the wholesale market here.
