Red chilli and turmeric prices fell down to Rs 300 per quintal in the national capital today due to slow down in demand at prevailing high prices.

Weak trends in futures trade and increased arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices.

Red chilli and turmeric prices traded lower in the range of Rs 200-300 to settle at Rs 6,800-12,800 and Rs 2,700-15,700 per quintal, respectively.

Market analysts said reduced offtake by local parties at higher prices mainly attributed to the fall in chilli and turmeric prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
