Coal India gains on entry into NSE Nifty index

Coal India is trading higher by 2% at Rs 382, reversing its three-day losing streak, on entering into the National Stock Exchange's Nifty from 10 October 2011.

“The state-run Coal India will replace Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group company Reliance Capital in S&P CNX Nifty index," the NSE said in its circular dated August 25, 2011.

Earlier this month, Coal India had replaced another Reliance ADA firm Reliance Infrastructure from BSE Sensex.

Reliance Capital, on the other hand, is trading down more than 2% at Rs 382 on the NSE.
