Coal output up 3%

 The public sector coal major has in fact managed to achieve as much as 99.9 per cent of targeted coal production levels in the period under consideration. The target in absolute terms was set at 133.97 million tonnes.

 Almost all the holding companies of Coal India registered all-round growths in coal production, off take, despatch to power sector and wagon loading during the period.

 The best performance among CIL subsidiaries was from Mahanadi Coal field Ltd which overshot its target by 9 per cent and produced 26.59 million tonnes of coal in the first half.
