Guar seed
Guar seed prices in the Jodhpur market are trading at Rs 3,279 per quintal. Prices are expected to trade higher towards Rs 3,400, following lower production and steady export demand. A weak rupee is positive for exports. All India guar seed production is pegged at 1.23 million tonnes (mt) against 1.82 mt of last year, lower by 32%>
Mustard seed
Mustard seed prices at Jaipur spot markets are trading at Rs 4,762 a quintal. In the coming days, prices are expected to rise to Rs 4,825 a quintal and trade firm mainly due to thin arrivals in spot markets. Daily arrivals have declined to 40,000 bags vs 80,000 bags in previous week. With ongoing Rabi sowing and post demonetisation of high value currencies, supplies have declined significantly. With the onset of winter, demand for mustard oil from processors may also support prices.
