Copper declines on weak global cues

Copper prices declined by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metal market today, largely in tandem with the weak trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME). 

Traders said slackened demand from consuming industries also weighed on copper prices.

Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery declined 0.2 per cent to $9,790 a tonne on the LME.  

In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were down by Rs 2 each to Rs 521, Rs 544 and Rs 505 per kg, respectively.
