Copper down 0.5% on profit-booking

Metal for delivery in April declined by 0.42%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Copper prices fell by 0.59% to Rs 416.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booking-profits on sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June fell by Rs 2.45, or 0.59%, to Rs 416.30 per kg in a business turnover of 2,268 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in April declined by Rs 1.75, or 0.42%, to Rs 414.15 per kg in 6,435 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to profit-booking by speculators due to sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
