Copper futures prices today fell 0.14% to Rs 405.45 per kg, as speculators reduced positions in line with a weak trend in the global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June declined by 55 paise, or 0.14%, to Rs 405.45 per kg in business turnover of 178 lots.

Metal for delivery in April fell by 40 paise or 0.10%, to Rs 400.70 per kg in a business volume of 3,677 lots.

Analysts said weakening trend in the global markets after US jobs data added to signs of slowing growth in the world's second-biggest user amid increasing mine supplies, mainly put pressure on copper prices at futures trade here.

Meanwhile, gold for delivery in three months contracts fell 0.60% to USD 6,577.50 per tonne, the lowest intra-day level since March 28, at the London Metal Exchange.
