Tracking a weak global trend, copper prices moved down by Rs 3.35 to Rs 437.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November moved down by Rs 3.35, or 0.76%, to Rs 437.70 per kg in a business turnover of 15,967 lots.

February copper traded lower by Rs 3, or 0.67%, to Rs 443 per kg in 1,330 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by participants in tandem with a weak global trend after China's factory output shrank influenced copper prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months lost 0.4% to $8,170 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
