Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to weak global cues amid escalating tensions in Ukraine

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Copper extended its weakness today with prices falling 0.31% to Rs 441.75 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June shed 95 paise, or 0.31%, to Rs 441.75 per kg in a business turnover of 12 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in April traded lower by 85 paise, or 0.19%, to Rs 438.90 per kg in 649 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to weak global cues amid escalating tensions in Ukraine and slowing growth in China, the world's biggest user.

Globally, copper for delivery in three months traded lower at $6,970 a tonne at the London Metal Exchange, while on the Shanghai Futures Exchange the metal was little changed at 48,750 yuan ($7,929) a tonne.
