Press Trust of India New Delhi
Tracking a weak global trend, copper prices fell by 0.36 per cent to Rs 419.35 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August fell Rs 1.50, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 419.35 per kg in business turnover of 33 lots.

June copper traded lower by Rs 1.30, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 416.50 per kg in 513 lots.

Analysts apart from subdued demand at domestic spot markets, a weak trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME) attributed the fall in copper futures.

Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months fell 0.3 per cent, to $6,856.50 a tonne at the LME.
