Copper futures traded 0.97% lower at Rs 351.65 today on speculators reducing their positions amid weak global cues.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month April fell Rs 3.45, or 0.97%, at Rs 351.65 per kg, in a business turnover of just one lot.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in November was down Rs 1.55, or 0.45%, at Rs 341.65 per kg in 739 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to weak cues from global market on signs of a weak demand outlook in China, the world's biggest consumer.

Meanwhile, copper on the London Metal Exchange slide 0.5% to $5,163.50 per tonne.
