Copper futures prices fell by 0.65% to Rs 430.65 per kg today as speculators offloaded their positions due to a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for August delivery fell by Rs 2.80, or 0.65%, to Rs 430.65 per kg, with a business turnover of 5,993 lots. It had ended flat at Rs 433.45 per kg in the previous session.
Similarly, the metal for November delivery lost Rs 2.65, or 0.61%, to Rs 436.80 per kg, with a trade volume of 371 lots.
Analysts said a weakening trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange as investors worried over a possible US default, mainly weighed on copper futures prices here.
