Amid weak trend in global markets and fall in spot domestic demand, copper futures prices fell by 0.40 per cent, to Rs 372.15 per kg today.

Copper for delivery in November traded Rs 1.50, or 0.40 per cent, down at Rs 372.15 per kg, with a trade volume of seven lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange counter.

It ended 0.01 per down at Rs 373.10 per kg in the previous session.

The metal for February delivery also weakened by Rs 1.30, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 375.50 per kg, with a business volume of four lots.

Meanwhile, three-month copper delivery was trading nearly one per cent lower at $8,269.75 a tonne at the London Metal Exchange.

Analysts said weak trend at the global markets as recent rally in metal prices slowed down purchases in China, world's largest consumer of the metal mainly put pressure on the metal futures here.
